Featuring THE BAND'S musical genius GARTH HUDSON and the ORIGINAL MUSIC DIRECTOR AND CO-PRODUCER OF THE '76 CONCERT, John Simon, Liberty Stage presents The Last Waltz on 23 November at 8pm.
It may be the most legendary rock concert of all time - the Band's final hurrah at San Francisco's Winterland Ballroom on Thanksgiving Day, 1976.Now it's about to make history once more.
The Last Waltz 40th Anniversary Concert Tour reunites two of the creative lynchpins of THE BAND for the very first time: the Band's keyboard genius Garth Hudson and their music director John Simon, the "sixth member" of the Band that lit the torch of Americana for generations to come.
In an authentic and respectful recreation of the '76 concert, both will perform live on stage, along with an exceptional ensemble of NZ artists and musicians.
