Shaping Sound and CLI Films Launch Kickstarter for Short Film

CLI Films, a new company that captures groundbreaking artistic collaboration on film, announces the launch of a Kickstarter campaign to seek support from fans and dance enthusiasts in raising $60,000 for a new film about Shaping Sound. Fresh from an explosive first national tour, Shaping Sound's vibrant contemporary choreographers and dancers will return to the screen, creating their first independent film. The film will feature choreography from Shaping Sound's Emmy-nominated choreographers Travis Wall, Nick Lazzarini, Teddy Forance, and Kyle Robinson, along with an innovative collaboration with world-renowned composer Ólafur Arnalds.

"With dancers from So You Think You Can Dance and Dancing With The Stars, and the company's unique beginnings on Oxygen's hit show All the Right Moves, Shaping Sound's dancing has been intimately tied up in the screen since inception," said CLI Films founder Jon Arpino. "This project is all about bringing artists together in a new way, and Kickstarter is a great opportunity to make fans a part of the collaborative process."

Using the well-known Kickstarter format, the campaign is designed with multiple reward levels for contributors. Rewards include special edition DVD's of the finished film and pre-release digital downloads; Shaping Sound apparel such as T-shirts, hoodies, and zip-ups; Shaping Sound behind-the-scenes updates and photos, and one-on-one time with the Shaping Sound founders.

The money raised through the Kickstarter campaign will make up the preliminary budget needs to hire the film crew and production team; pay the dancers, choreographers and composer; fund costumes, makeup, set and lighting design; secure rehearsal space and rental of the locations to shoot the film; and provide DVD's and other rewards to supporters of the project.
