Roxey Ballet Nominated as Favorite Dance Company in New Jersey

Roxey Ballet has announced its nomination for favorite Dance Company in the Sixth Annual JerseyArts.com People's Choice Awards. Roxey Ballet is among eight arts districts and 71 organizations nominated for the yearly awards program run by Discover Jersey Arts to honor the work of New Jersey's vital, vibrant and diverse arts organizations. Discover Jersey Arts is a cosponsored project of the ArtPride New Jersey Foundation and New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State dedicated to increasing the awareness of and participation in the arts in N.J."Our nomination for Roxey Ballet Company is incredibly humbling," said Mark Roxey, Artistic Director and Founder of Roxey Ballet. "We're proud to be a part of such a strong arts community in N.J., one in which we support each other and work to help one another thrive. We hope our wonderful community of patrons will also support us by voting in this year's Awards."

Nominees for the People's Choice Awards were nominated by their peers through the Jersey Arts Marketers network, which is made up of hundreds of nonprofit arts groups across the state.

"The nominees should be very proud of the work they're doing to establish N.J. as a destination for arts and culture," said Jim Atkinson, ArtPride New Jersey Foundation's Director of Programs and Services.

Ballots are prepped for arts lovers across the state to vote for their favorite N.J. arts organizations in 14 categories. From favorite performing arts center to favorite Dance Company, favorite art gallery to favorite downtown arts district, it's the public's turn to decide who's who among the Garden State's cultural community.

Public voting begins December 11, 2013 and runs through January 22, 2014. Winners will be announced in early February and will be honored at the New Jersey Conference on Tourism, held each year at the Golden Nugget in Atlantic City.
