Roulette Kicks Off Composer/Choreographer Series Tonight

Roulette presents the "Composers/Choreographer" Series, part of the acclaimed DANCERoulette. The series is designed to highlight uniquely talented artists collaborating within movement, sound, spatial design, visual cacophony, choreography, improvisation, ephemerality, and theatrical re-imagining. Double-Edge Dance - A Contemporary Dance and Music company Double-Edge Dance comes UNHINGED. Double-Edge Dance will perform an evening of choreographed solos including: Retracing, cloud elegy, and Unhinged, a series of improvisations, and music compositions: Still Adrift, Bypassing the Ogre, and Broken Remains. Retracingis a collaboration with textile artist Rebecca Cross. Dancers include co-founder Kora Radellla and Sarah Lass. Musicians include co-founder Ross Feller (saxophones) Johnny Butler (woodwinds), Aryeh Kobrinsky (double bass), Dorothy Martirano (violin), Jason Nazary (drums), Stephanie Richards (trumpet), Matthew Silberman (woodwinds), and Adam Tendler (piano)

Choreographer: Koosil-ja A Wind Blowing On Us FOR ROULETTE
This piece has been created specifically for the architecture of Roulette's performance space, based on the original work, A Wind Blowing On Us. The work will be danced by Elise Knudson, Melissa Guerrero and AstonK to the music composed and performed by Geoff Matters. For more information go to:

Located in a newly renovated 1920s Art Deco concert hall in Downtown Brooklyn, the new Roulette features two levels of seating for up to 400 people (600 standing), an expanded multi-channel sound system, projection screen for film and multi-media events, state-of-the-art lighting system, modular stage, and a specially designed floor to accommodate dance.
