Restless Dance's Fundraising Campaign Receives Major Bonus Restless Dance Theatre's new fundraising campaign Restless Goes Global has received a major boost with a donation of $20,000 from the Adelaide Theatre and More Social Club Inc. (AT&M) (formerly Lee's Theatre Club).

Announced on 19 March and running through until 4 May the Restless Goes Global campaign is a multi-level matching fundraiser designed to provide funds towards costs associated with touring Restless works nationally and internationally over the coming years.

Restless Development Manager Belinda Hellyer said, 'Adelaide Theatre and More contacted us to request a meeting after seeing an article in the press about a donation we had received from the Lions Club of Glenside. After hearing about our works of dance theatre, our plans for touring the company in the future and the opportunity to have their donation quadrupled through our Restless Goes Global campaign, they committed to donating $20,000 to Restless. We were so incredibly surprised by the level of the support they have gifted to us and we are thrilled that their donation can be a part of our current Creative Partnerships Australia (CPA) Plus1 fundraising campaign. We are so grateful'..

The Restless Goes Global campaign began with a target of raising $25,000. Once this amount is reached two current donors to Restless Dance Theatre, James Darling AM and Lesley Forwood will match that sum with a further $25,000 to bring the total to $50,000. In addition, Restless was successful in receiving funding from Creative Partnerships Australia's Plus1 matched funding program, which then means a commitment to matching the $50,000 with a further $50,000 to the campaign to a total of $100,000. Anything raised beyond this is a much welcome bonus.

AT&M has a long history of enabling disability interactions; currently they offer social events, theatre, dinners and movies.

AT&M committee member, Jean Durran Hancock OAM said, 'We aim to support local groups involved in promoting Theatre who would benefit from some financial support to further their work. We were so impressed and excited by what Restless has achieved and what they are aiming for in work they do with young people with disability.

'We were committed to supporting Restless Dance Theatre after seeing their premises, staff commitment and aspirations and viewing the confidence and opportunities they inspire in young people with disabilities. Supporting the company during their Creative Partnerships Australia Plus1 fundraising period made our donation part of enabling them to help more young people and showcase and delight audiences far and wide'.
