New York-based choreographer and performer, Monica Bill Barnes has created 12 evening-length dance works, numerous site-specific events, and several cabaret numbers for her company. Monica Bill Barnes & Company is made up of powerful performers with the mission to celebrate individuality, humor, and the innate theatricality of everyday life. Beginning with an open rehearsal on Tuesday, September 11, Barnes will create a new work to be showcased at the Emory Dance Company Fall concert. Faculty member Anna Leo will rehearse and direct the work until performance in November.

Monica Bill Barnes & Company returns to Emory February 28-March 2 to present their current touring repertory including three distinct works, “New Work untitled” (2012), “mostly fanfare” (2010), and “Everything is getting better all the time”(2011). This outrageous and whimsical evening of dance, a part of the Flora Glenn Candler Concert Series, borrows from the glamour of rock concerts and the goodwill of a little league game.
