The Marblehead School of Ballet (MSB) invites the public to attend its 2015 Summer Dance Intensive Workshop Performance today, August 8 at 12:30 p.m. at 115 Pleasant Street in Marblehead, Massachusetts. The program is free. A donation may be made to The Ruth N. Shiff Memorial Fund or the North Shore Civic Ballet Company (NSCB), a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization.

The performance features students enrolled in the MSB's 2015 Summer Dance Intensive and dancers from the NSCB. A range of repertory will be performed from classical ballet, modern, and jazz.

The program will also present the NSCB. Dancers Emma Barbin and Haley Russo will perform the duet There, There choreographed by Ivan Korn.

"The performance is a culmination of the 2015 Summer Dance Intensive program and various technique classes. The dancers will perform the choreography they learned in the intensive third week of repertory focusing on technique, choreography, and rehearsals, ending with the production of the work. This is a big challenge for these up-and-coming dancers," said Director Paula K. Shiff, recipient of Salem State University's 2009 Lifetime Achievement Award in the Arts, who trained at the Boston Ballet and in New York and performed with the Boston Ballet Company.

The MSB 2015 Summer Dance Intensive program was sponsored in part by The Ruth N. Shiff Memorial Fund. The Fund also supported a limited number of merit-based scholarships for aspiring dancers to attend the summer intensive.
