MN's Northrop Dance to Present Joffrey Ballet's RITE OF SPRING at Orpheum Theatre, 2/26
One of America's leading ballet companies epitomizing the highest standard of classical training, Chicago-based Joffrey Ballet expresses a unique, inclusive perspective on dance, proudly reflecting the diversity of America. The repertoire includes a reconstruction of Nijinsky's The Rite of Spring celebrating its 100th anniversary, paired with the contemporary, electronic piece In the Middle, Somewhat Elevated by William Forsythe and Stanton Welch's (of MN favorite Houston Ballet) newest work, Son of Chamber Symphony. The U of M Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Mark Russell Smith, performs live for Son of Chamber Symphony and The Rite of Spring.
