Louisville Tango Festival Returns For a Third Year This June

On June 1, Buenos Aires comes to Louisville when the Louisville Tango Festival presents an Argentine Tango Showcase, Concert, and Milonga. The Seelbach Hilton will sizzle as world-class tango dancers and a live band create the magic of tango. Attendees will be transported to the world's finest tango salons as the stars present live performances and hundreds of tango dancers take to the floor.

The Showcase, Concert, and Milonga is open to the public with tickets available at the door for $55. The doors open at 9:30pm with tango dancing for festival participants during the Milonga. The band, Cuarteto Tanguero, will perform at 10:30. The Showcase featuring professional tango dancers will start later in the evening. Following the Showcase, the Milonga will last until 4:00am. The event will have a Great Gatsby theme with attendees and dancers dressing in the style of the 1920s. The Louisville Tango Festival Showcase continues to grow in popularity among both dancers and dance lovers. This year will feature some of the finest tango artists currently performing in the US, including international tango stars Alicia Pons, Junior Cervila & Guadalupe Garcia, Daniela Roig & Hernan Prieto, and others. The band will be the Bloomington-based Cuarteto Tanguero, a traditional quartet known for hosting yearly tango music workshops. Chicago-based Rodrigo Saraibe, DJ Charrua Tango, will provide recorded music for the evening's milonga.
