The cross-dressing, all-male troupe, "The Trocks," will perform its fusion of classical ballet and slapstick humor at the Alden. On the surface, the show is a witty and somewhat campy send-up of classical ballet conventions, but just underneath there is a seriousness of purpose and a love of the art form.
Similarly the dancers-"ballerinas" in size 10 pointe shoes with names like Svetlana Lofatkina and Ida Nevasayneva-are superb, with a level of technique that would top that of many of their female counterparts.
Tickets are on sale and can be purchased online or in person at the Alden Theatre Box Office and start at $35.
