GCTC to Present Propeller Dance in FUSE, 2/12-13

The Great Canadian Theatre Company (GCTC ) will present Propeller Dance in FUSE - Love, interdependence & iPads.

"This trio of contemporary new works are a journey of love, togetherness and connection that reflect the reality and diversity of our bodies and minds" says Renata Soutter, Co-Artistic Director of Propeller Dance.

"Collaborating isn't easy! It takes more time, more trust and a big leap of faith," says Co-Artistic Director Shara Weaver. For I need you?, the company dancers shared their essence through movement with Ottawa composer and musician, Jesse Stewart, who created a soundscape using his unique instruments and an on-stage interaction with iPads.

February 12 & 13, 2015:

About Propeller Dance: Propeller Dance is a company of dancers with and without disabilities and is committed to creating, teaching, performing and presenting integrated dance. Disability is a difference in human experience rather than a limitation, something to overcome or a lack of ability. Led by Co-Artistic Directors Renata Soutter and Shara Weaver, their programs are inclusive, fostering an integrated approach to dance and art-making, education and community development. As of January 2015, Propeller Dance became GCTC's new Associate Company. The company will create and rehearse new works in GCTC's Studio Theatre. This February they are presenting FUSE and in May 2015 they will present a mainstage dance production.

Two shows only on February 12 & 13 in the Studio Theatre at GCTC. Performances begin at 7:30pm. Tickets are on sale now at the GCTC Box Office - 613-236-5196, 1233 Wellington St. West (at Holland) and online at www.gctc.ca . Tickets are $25 and $15 for students, seniors and low income patrons. Audiences are invited to stay after each performance for a talk-back with the artists.
