Dance Council of North Texas Hosts 2nd Annual Dallas DanceFest This Weekend

Dance Council of North Texas (DCNT), in partnership with the City of Dallas Office of Cultural Affairs, is thrilled to announce the artists and companies participating in the second annual Dallas DanceFest (DDF) that will take place this weekend, September 4-6 at Dallas City Performance Hall.

This prestigious event features one-of-a-kind performances on Friday and Saturday evenings at 8:00 p.m. The Sunday matinee, 2015 Dance Council Honors, will include a reception and silent auction beginning at 2:00 p.m. followed by the performance at 3:00 p.m.

Curated by top dance professionals Lauren Anderson, Fred Darsow, Bridget L. Moore, and Catherine Turocy; DDF 2015 will feature 20 exceptional companies from Houston, Austin, Oklahoma, Alabama, and Dallas/Fort Worth. Audiences may expect each performance to be an exciting display of dance styles including - ballet, modern, hip-hop, classical Indian dance, contemporary, tap, and Ballet Folklorico. Among the invited guest artists are Dallas Cowboys Rhythm & Blues Dancers, Rhythmic Souls, and LaQuet Sharnell Pringle.

DDF 2015 will conclude Sunday, September 6 with 2015 Dance Council Honors which celebrates the accomplishments of distinguished individuals whose passion and commitment to the dance community have greatly impacted the art form in North Texas. Program order for the three different performances will be released by August 1.

Dallas DanceFest 2015 is made possible in partnership with the City of Dallas Office of Cultural Affairs; sponsors include WFAA Channel 8, Heritage Auctions, Bloomberg Philanthropies, Texas Commission on the Arts in association with the National Endowment for the Arts, Dallas Arts District, and Dallas Convention and Visitors Bureau (DTPID).
