The world-renowned Young People's Chorus of New York City (YPC) conducted by Artistic Director/Founder Francisco J. Núñez will be presented today, November 22, at Roseville Lutheran Church by VocalEssence, as part of the 46th anniversary season of Minnesota's acclaimed professional chorus.

This concert is a highlight of YPC's four-day visit to Minnesota, which also comprises choral workshops for high school students in St. Paul and Minneapolis, a recording for national broadcast at Minnesota Public Radio, and several additional performances, including one at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, where Mr. Núñez will give a workshop at the ACDA Minnesota national conference. (Please see complete schedule below.)

In anticipation of YPC's visit, Philip Brunelle, artistic director and founder of VocalEssence said, "Every year VocalEssence invites a guest choir to be part of our subscription season and participate in community engagement programs. I am thrilled that, at last, VocalEssence can present the Young People's Chorus of New York City and Francisco Núñez. I regard YPC as the finest youth choir in North America, with no exception!"

Mr. Núñez said, "We are honored to be presented by VocalEssence, America's iconic choral ensemble and longtime friend of YPC, and excited to be performing for the first time in the Twin Cities."

On November 22, the Young People's Chorus of New York City, acclaimed worldwide for its brilliant interpretations of music of all genres and dynamic staged presentations, will take the Roseville Lutheran Church audience on an unstoppable musical journey through time. The evening's repertoire extends from Robert Schumann's Spanisches Liederspiel to a Leonard Bernstein West Side Story medley, and includes thrilling performances of jazz, Americana, and folk music from the global village. YPC's program also includes music by two Minnesotans: Orpheus, which YPC commissioned from Dominick Argento, and Stephen Paulus's Sing Creations Music On, in memory of his recent passing. (Please see complete program below.)
