Personal Space Theatrics is proud to announce its second production of the 2004/05 Season 3 – Love for Sale: Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol. For the past two holiday seasons, PST has transported you and your entire family to the London of 1843, where the truly despicable, soulless Scrooge, the struggling Cratchits, the boisterous Fezziwigs and four eerie Christmas Ghosts awaited you, your heart and your imagination in a one-night only benefit concert. This season, PST is mounting a full production for eleven performances of this powerful holiday tale of human redemption. Adapted by Artistic Director Stephen Wargo, with a cast of over twenty actors and singers, led by New York and West End veteran, Robert Ian Mackenzie as Scrooge, and complete with 22 classic traditional holiday songs seamlessly woven into Dickens' words as arranged by Dianne Adams McDowell, this production brings audiences to their feet with a simple mixture of music, comedy, thrills and messages of hope, peace on earth and goodwill to men.

"Why is this one story so popular?" asks Artistic Director Stephen Wargo. "Why do people return to it year after year? My inner cynic says they like the comfort of the same story time after time, season after season. But when you hear the basic truth of Dickens' words flowing straight from his pen into your mind and your heart, the cynic shuts up.

When I wrote the adaptation, keeping Dickens' story fully intact, I strove to give it the weight, grandeur and soul-searching intensity of the classical Greek drama. There is a chorus that engages the audience and moves the action forward. The songs comment on the action and underscore the events of the play. The PST staging – open, raw and in direct communication with the audience - has the echoes of theater at its earliest roots."

Join us from December 10th through December 19th 2004 at the Bernie West Theatre, Baruch College, 17 Lexington Ave. in New York City for a "one of a kind" A Christmas Carol that celebrates the possibilities of the season and the potential of the human spirit.

Breaking Theatrical boundaries since 2001, Personal Space Theatrics was founded with the guiding principle that Theatre was created for audiences. We envision a new environment of play-going, one where actors, audiences and plays themselves meet together in the same literal space without the conventional dual constructs of a stage.
