Millersville Music Department Announces Nov 2014 Concert Lineup

Lancaster, Pa. -- The public is invited to a series of concerts at the Winter Visual and Performing Arts Center at Millersville University located at 60 West Cottage Avenue, Millersville, starting with two choral ensemble concerts on Nov. 7 and Nov. 8, 2014. The concert on Nov 7 will feature Cantilena and the Men's Glee Club, titled "Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus". On Nov. 8, the Chorale and University Choir will present "Music of the British Isles". Both concerts begin at 7:30 pm.

Next, Millersville University Orchestra will perform Haydn's "Farewell" symphony and other great masterworks on Nov. 14. The concert begins at 7:30 pm.

On Sunday, Nov. 16, at 2:30 p.m., the MU Concert Band and Wind Ensemble will present "Home on the Grainger," featuring the music of Percy Grainger, who was born in Australia in 1882, moved to America in 1914, and played a prominent role in the revival of interest in British folk music during that era.

Then, a "Fall Percussion Extravaganza" on Wednesday, Nov. 19, 7:30 p.m., will feature percussion artists performing an array of works from the percussion literature, including an assortment of electronic acoustics and original compositions.

Tickets, $10 general admission for each concert, can be purchased at ArtsMU.com or by calling the ticket office, 717-871-7600. Free tickets are available to Millersville University students with valid I.D.. The ticket office is located in the Student Memorial Center on the MU campus. Tickets may also be purchased in person at the ticket office, or at front desk of the Ware Center, 42 N. Prince Street, Lancaster.
