5@5 at DiMenna Solo Piano Series presents Georgia's Mariam Batsashvili in her U.S. debut on Saturday, July 16 @ 5:00 PM, as the seventh program of their 2016 performance series, curated by Mirian Conti, at The DiMenna Center for Classical Music, 450 West 37th Street in Manhattan.

The concert will include music by Marcello/JS. Bach, Bach/Busoni, Handel/Liszt and Liszt himself.

Mariam Batsashvili won First Prize at the 10th International Franz Liszt Piano Competition in Utrecht, becoming the first female First Prize Winner of the competition. As winner she embarked on an extensive concert tour, taking her to more than 30 countries. The morning after the Finals in Utrecht's Tivoli Vredenburg she made her debut in a sold-out main hall of the Amsterdam Concertgebouw. Together with the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of James Gaffigan, she performed Liszt's Concerto No. 1 in E flat major. In the coming years, Batsashvili will work with renowned orchestras such as the Rotterdam and Brussels Philharmonics and the National Symphony Orchestra of Ecuador. She will also play at festivals such as the Beethovenfest Bonn, Pianofortissimo Festival Bologna and Delft Chamber Music Festival. The tour will cover 24 countries including China, Brazil, the United States, South Africa, Russia, Indonesia, Georgia, Spain, Germany, France and Belgium.
