Making their New York City recital debut on October 19, 2015 in Merkin Concert Hall are soprano Lilla Szász and baritone Steven Eddy Tickets are $30 ($15 for seniors) and available at the Merkin Hall Box Office, online http://www.kaufmanmusiccenter.org/mch/event/joy-in-singing-2015-artist-award-recital/ or by calling (212) 501-3330.

Ms. Szász will be accompanied by Lachlen Glen, offering selections by Britten, Kodály and Schubert. She recently appeared with Opera St. Louis, and has been praised for her "appealing sound, agile coloratura and oversize wit" (The New York Times). Mr. Eddy collaborates with pianist Dimitri Dover, performing Barber's Melodies passageres, and selections by Brahms, C Schumann, and Jake Heggie among others. Mr. Eddy is noted for his "polished baritone" and "comedic acting skill". He recently returned from the Saratoga Opera festival season, and has appeared at Songfest and Tanglewood.

The Joy In Singing Artist Award was established in 1958, to help further the careers of vocal artists interested in the art of the recital. Joy In Singing is a nonprofit organization, Its activities also include the Song as a Second Language and SongSalon programs, both designed to offer more opportunity to artists interested in exploring and performing the vast and rich art song repertoire.
