"Ukulele hero" (Rolling Stone) Jake Shimabukuro is set to transport audiences with his blindingly fast and complex string skills during two, special performances at the Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts Sunday, November 15 at 2 pm and 7 pm. Multi-instrumentalist, singer and songwriter Caroline Jones will open each performance.

Lauded as the "Jimi Hendrix of the ukulele" (Guitar Player) and "the greatest living ukulele player" (Boing Boing), the Hawaiian-born Shimabukuro fuses a multitude of genres with inexplicable ease. From the playing style of the mandolin, to the intricate melody of a music box, Shimabukuro thrills audiences and listeners with covers of "Rolling In the Deep," "Fields of Gold" and his own original compositions.

Shimabukuro has "raised the bar for the ukulele" (Washington Post), is the subject of the documentary Life on Four Strings, has appeared on A Prairie Home Companion and has acquired an eclectic fan base which includes Perez Hilton, Eddie Vedder and Conan O'Brien. He has toured all over the world and has performed alongside Yo-Yo Ma, Bette Midler, Cyndi Lauper, Ziggy Marley, Bela Fleck and more.
