BUFFALO, NY - Ukulele virtuoso Jake Shimabukuro will perform at Kleinhans Music Hall at 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17. Tickets will go on sale on Thursday, May 11.

Shimabukuro has singlehandedly redefined the ukulele, exploring the instrument's possibilities like none other and inspiring a generation to learn the instrument. His YouTube videos of songs by The Beatles and Jimi Hendrix went viral and launched him into the international spotlight. He performs a range of rock music, tunes from his native Hawaii, and original works.

Shimabukuro is a relentless live performer, touring constantly and garnering global critical acclaim. The Cleveland Plain Dealer said: "He pulled sounds from that tiny device made of wood and nylon strings that defy science and reality, sounds that Eric Clapton would envy." The San Jose Mercury News said: "With Shimabukuro, the ukulele has found its Eric Clapton." He has released two albums in the past year: "Travels" in late 2015, and "Live in Japan" in February. He has ventured into classical music, making a successful debut with the Buffalo Philharmonic last fall and performing with other orchestras across the country. He returns to the Kleinhans stage in November for this solo show.

Tickets for Jake Shimabukuro are $35 and $45, with VIP seating tickets available for $65. To purchase tickets, visit kleinhansbuffalo.org or call (716) 885-5000.
