Iris String Quartet to Play Metropolitan Playhouse, 11/26

Metropolitan Playhouse is pleased to present the "lovely and satisfying" (Times Square Chronicles) Iris String Quartet in a concert of masterworks by Stravinsky, Bartók, and Haydn. Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at 8:00 PM at Metropolitan Playhouse 220 East 4th Street between Avenues A and B, New York City. Tickets are: $25 Adults and $10 Children Under 18.

Béla Bartók - String Quartet No. 1, Opus 7
Franz Joseph Haydn - String Quartet in G Major, Opus 76 No.1

The Iris String Quartet is:
Yibin Li - violin, Muneyoshi Takahashi - violin, Entela Barci, - viola, Sean Katsuyama - cello.

The Iris Quartet has presented concerts in some of New York's finest venues since it's inception in 2007. Named after the Greek goddess of the rainbow, the Quartet brings to its performances a colorful blend of four diverse personalities and backgrounds.

In addition to performing, each member is involved in teaching their respective instrument, and also in educating audiences new to classical music. Trained at New York's most renowned music schools, formative studies in Albania, China, Japan, and the United States also enhance their distinctive musical interpretations.

Iris is excited to begin their second season of concertizing in this award-winning theater that is an integral part of the heart of the East Village theater scene. Metropolitan Playhouse is again eager to present the Iris String Quartet in this concert of classical chamber music in its intimate downtown home.
