The Vail Valley is alive with the extraordinary sounds of Bravo! Vail, and this summer, Bravo! Vail and the Town of Avon are expanding their partnership with a new summer concert series that brings free, world music concerts to Avon's picturesque Nottingham Park. In its first year, the new Avon Presents: Bravo! Vail series features two evening concerts: Flamenco Fusion with Tito del Barrio Malaga on Thursday, July 10, and Celtic Jam with Colcannon Irish Ensemble on Thursday, July 17. Suitable for all ages, the Avon Presents: Bravo! Vail concert series combines three of the Vail Valley's most cherished assets: beautiful parks, enthusiastic audiences, and the artists of Bravo! Vail.

"Bravo! Vail is delighted to expand its partnership with the Town of Avon at these two exciting free, outdoor concerts," said James W. Palermo, president & executive director, Bravo! Vail. "Our goal is to provide Bravo! Vail's signature high-quality programming to Avon and down Valley residents in a lovely, casual outdoor setting. We look forward to presenting great music for the community on July 10 and 17 and hope everyone comes out to support and enjoy these new events."

On July 10, the free concert series kicks off with Tito del Barrio Malaga, performing its signature blend of flamenco, gypsy, rumba, bolero, and salsa music in an evening sure to get audiences on their feet. The band was founded by Samir El Yesfi (Tito) to bring together the musical styles of Latin America with Native American, Spanish, African, Islamic, and Arabic influences and traditional Moroccan folk music. This blend reflects the rich cultural and musical heritage of Tito del Barrio Malaga's members.

The series continues on Friday, July 17 with the Colcannon Irish Ensemble. Authentic and joyous, Colcannon's musical style pays tribute to the heart and soul of Irish music with its own distinctive, contemporary sound. Formed in 1984 in Boulder, Colcannon has become renowned for energetic performances distinguished by singer Mick Bolger's irrepressible sense of humor, and, of course, for the music; music that expresses flights of joy, deep sorrows, and an unquenchable thirst for life.

Each concert celebrates the summer with lively and family-friendly music in a beautiful outdoor setting. This summer, pack a picnic, bring a blanket or low lawn chairs, and spend time with family and friends at Avon Presents: Bravo! Vail.

Now in its 27th season, Bravo! Vail presents more than 40 free community engagement events throughout the Vail Valley in summer 2014, including 15 free chamber music concerts at venues such as the Vail Interfaith Chapel, The Chapel at Beaver Creek, and Edwards Interfaith Chapel, as well as locations in Gypsum and Eagle. In addition, Bravo! Vail recently announced Bravo! Vail After Dark, a free concert series that emphasizes experiencing classical music in a new way. In its first season, the series features two free events: Third Coast Percussion at the Vail Ale House on July 19 and the Calder Quartet at the Crazy Mountain Brewing Company on July 26.
