Andres Orozco-Estrada to Make Debut at HBU's Morris Cultural Arts Center

Music Director Andrés Orozco-Estrada will step onto the conductor's podium at Houston Baptist University's Joella & Stewart Morris Cultural Arts Center for the first time since being appointed music director. The one-night-only performance featuring violin showpieces and romantic masterworks by Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky will take place at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 21.

Andrés Conducts Tchaikovsky will feature two of Tchaikovsky's most emotive scores, beginning with the Shakespeare-inspired Romeo and Juliet Overture-Fantasy and ending with the composer's dramatic Fifth Symphony. Acclaimed violinist Paul Huang will join the orchestra for Beethoven's Romance No. 2 for Violin and Orchestra, Kreisler's Tambourin Chinois for Violin and Orchestra, and Liebesleid and Liebesfreud, two of the composer's Three Old Viennese Dances.

The concert, underwritten by Mr. Stewart Morris, will take place in the Linda & Archie Dunham Theater at the Morris Cultural Arts Center on the campus of Houston Baptist University located at 7502 Fondren Road, Houston, TX 77074.
