5@5 at DiMenna Solo Piano Series presents a special Albert Ginastera 100th Anniversary concert on Saturday, May 21 @ 5:00 PM, as the fifth program of their 2016 performance series, curated by Mirian Conti, at The DiMenna Center for Classical Music, 450 West 37th Street in Manhattan.

The concert will include the complete solo piano music of Argentinean master Alberto Ginastera, performed by seven young Argentinean pianists - Tamara Benitez, Jonathan Guelfand, Agustin Muriago, Leandro Jauregui, Marcelo Lian, Fernando Palomeque and Leonardo Soria.

Alberto Ginastera (1916-1983) occupied a leading position in the musical world of his native Argentina, where he exercised strong influence over a younger generation of composers. He later spent much time in Europe, settling in Geneva. His style of writing developed from overt nationalism to a flexible application of the serialist principles proposed by Schoenberg. Admission to the concert is $5.00. Tickets are available at https://www.facebook.com/events/563049937189048/.
