The Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra presents its 19th Annual Mozart Birthday Bash on Saturday, January 31, 8:00pm at the Michigan Theater. This all-Mozart concert will feature guest performers Jeanette Vecchione and Timothy Michling, and is proudly co- sponsored by Rebecca Horvath.

His name, one word, says it all. Mozart is a virtuoso composer in every genre - symphonies, concertos, opera, sacred song, background music - and tonight we celebrate with a tasting of all those specialties. A2SO's Principal Oboist Timothy Michling, dazzles in Mozart's only oboe concerto, one of the hallmarks of the literature. Its deft melding of playful and wistful melodies will make this one of your favorites. Your A2SO strings take center stage in the intricately satisfying Adagio and Fugue. Coloratura Jeanette Vecchione presents a treasure trove of arias from the Great Mass in C to excerpts from the Abduction from the Seraglio. The entire orchestra concludes with the ever-popular Symphony No. 40.

Highly acclaimed for her robust technique and precise coloratura, young Italian-American- soprano Jeanette Vecchione is a star on the rise, becoming an audience favorite, drawing big crowds and conversation over her fearless stage presence and impressive high register. Vecchione is a graduate of The Juilliard School with both a Bachelor and Masters Degree in Music.

Also featured is a Metropolitan Detroit native Timothy Michling, principal oboist of the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra. An avid performer, Michling appears frequently with numerous area orchestras, including the Toledo Symphony Orchestra, Flint Symphony Orchestra, Saginaw Bay Symphony Orchestra, Midland Symphony Orchestra, Oakland Symphony Orchestra, and the Michigan Philharmonic Orchestra. He is also an accomplished woodwind specialist, and was a member of the pit orchestra during the 2003-2004 North American Tour of Meredith Wilson's "The Music Man," playing oboe, English horn, flute, piccolo, clarinet, and bassoon.
