THREE GUARDS ON MANUS ISLAND Comes to The Butterfly Club

What happens when three guards on Manus Island form an amateur dramatic society? They perform to the only audience they have: their detainees.

Josh Cake, James Gordon, and Sandy Whittem are three guards on Manus Island. Their audience are the detainees. Directed by Jacob Sacher, Three Guards on Manus Island is an hour of wildly silly yet fiercely logical sketches and songs, at The Butterfly Club from 8 to 14 April 2019.

All profits will go to the Refugee Action Collective of Victoria.

Sandy Whittem and James Gordon are critically acclaimed comedic actors, writers, and directors who have delighted audiences at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival for years. Josh Cake (Best Comedy, Degraves Awards; Best Solo Performer, Humour Nouveau; Best Cabaret, The Weekly Beckett) is an international cabaret artist making his first on-stage appearance at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Director Jacob Sacher (Excellence Off Stage Award, Melbourne Theatre Company is a performer at the Improv Conspiracy and LMA Theatres, and one of Australia's top Jewish comedians.
