The Bakehouse Theater in Adelaide is set to present EPHEMERA STAINS, a show featuring two short plays, GODFREY and FILLING IN. The production is set to open September 4 and run through September 15.

GODFREY, by Lucy Campbell
Waiting, not for Godot, but the bus.
At an isolated bus stop Reginald a self-abandoned fellow, meets a Julian, a very strange fellow indeed! Reginald discovers that idle thoughts and time passing can reveal all sorts of surprises of the mind. Hilariously absurd theatre for the new millennium; in this occasionally musical, and more than slightly surreal world premiere.

FILLING IN, by David Paul Jobling
A method actor shares his innermost thoughts about working in the Australian entertainment industry such as "what do you think about while you play a corpse on a cop show? How do you keep true to the art during post mortem forensic examination while you're laying on the slab?"

Based on the real experiences of the writer, the play has been refreshed for this South Australian premiere with additional material drawn from Jobling's life. Although the play deals with strong themes that include the lingering memories of child sexual abuse, it presents with a whimsically light hand in the way it reflects on the stains of life that wash away, along with those that don’t.

This short Post-Modern play by South Australian writer DP Jobling premiered in February 1998 at The Performance Space, Sydney, NSW, but it has yet to be staged in South Australia.

EPHEMERA STAINS begins previews September 4th, with an opening night of the 5th. The season continues September 6th, 7th, 8th, 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th (all at 8 PM), with a matinee scheduled for September 15 at 4 PM. Tickets are available at www.bakehousetheatre.com.
