Video: Cara Delevingne Debuts New Songs with Short Film by SEVERANCE Director
Delevingne will be playing a run of shows across Europe, the U.K., and the U.S., kicking off in Berlin on June 1.
Cara Delevingne, who starred as Sally Bowles in the West End revival of Cabaret, has shared a pair of interconnected songs, “I Forgot” and “Out of my Head.” The new music arrives alongside the announcement of Delevingne signing with Warner Records, with her debut album to follow this summer.
The songs were co-produced by Delevingne with BJ Burton. Watch the short film version of the 7-minute experimental track, directed by Emmy-winner Jessica Lee Gagné (Severance).
“Music was always that dream I had, but never believed I would get the opportunity to create,” says Delevingne of her music debut, “Writing ‘I Forgot’ felt like a rebirth for me and ‘Out of my Head’ was like going to therapy. Everything has felt like it’s led up to this point and I can’t wait for everyone to experience it.”
Delevingne is embarking on her new musical era with a run of shows across Europe, the U.K., and the U.S. They kick off in Berlin on June 1 and hit major cities including Barcelona, London, Paris, Los Angeles, and New York. She’s also playing a handful of festivals including All Things Go NYC, and Primavera Sound editions in Barcelona, Buenos Aires, and São Paulo.
Playing and writing music have been lifelong passions for the model and actress. Her previous musical projects include writing a song for her 2017 Luc Besson-directed space opera Valerian, and later starring in the West End’s revival of Cabaret. She has also been featured on Fiona Apple’s Fetch the Bolt Cutters, St. Vincent’s Masseduction, and Dijon’s Baby.
