Listen: Sam Reid's THE VAMPIRE LESTAT Unveils New Single Ahead of AMC Premiere
The original music and lyrics were written by series composer Daniel Hart and performed by Reid.
Lestat de Lioncourt, the immortal rock star played by Sam Reid in AMC's The Vampire Lestat, has unveiled the sultry new single “Butterscotch Bitch." This is the latest track to be released ahead of the season premiere on Sunday, June 7.
The song follows the Vampire Lestat’s recently released singles “All Fall Down” and “Long Face,” all of which feature original music and lyrics by series composer Daniel Hart and are performed by Reid.
“’Butterscotch Bitch’ is, I hope, the song that feels the most like Lestat, as it's the song I wrote with the most knowledge of Lestat under my belt to date," said Hart. "And why not end the songwriting with a song that Lestat wrote about himself? He is, after all, The Lestat-iest Lestat that's ever Lestat-ed.”
In the new rock and roll centric season, the Vampire Lestat goes on an electric multi-city tour while being haunted by “muses” from his wild and rebellious past. As his band’s popularity and star power rises, so does Lestat’s influence over vampires and humans alike, leaving others to contend with Lestat’s power in the face of the Great Conversion, an unnatural surge in the vampire population.
In addition to Reid, The Vampire Lestat stars Jacob Anderson, Assad Zaman, Eric Bogosian, DELAINEY HAYLES and Jennifer Ehle and is executive produced by award-winning producer Mark Johnson, creator, writer and showrunner Rolin Jones, Hannah Moscovitch, along with Christopher Rice and the late Anne Rice.
Lestat will take over New York City's Beacon Theatre on June 2 for The Vampire Lestat: One Night Only - LIVE. Played by Reid, Lestat will take the stage to perform the original music from the series in a live performance following a special screening of the premiere episode.
