I'M SORRY, PRIME MINISTER Trailer Released for Theatre Royal Brighton Run
The political comedy is set to run at the iconic Brighton venue, with tickets available through ATG Tickets.
A new trailer has been released for I'M SORRY, PRIME MINISTER, the stage comedy heading to Theatre Royal Brighton, offering audiences a first look at the production ahead of its run at the historic venue.
I'M SORRY, PRIME MINISTER is written by Jonathan Lynn, the co-creator of the beloved BBC television series YES MINISTER and YES, PRIME MINISTER, which ran from the early 1980s and turned Jim Hacker and Sir Humphrey Appleby into enduring figures of British political satire. The stage production reunites those two iconic characters — the bumbling former Prime Minister and his formidably evasive former Cabinet Secretary — for what Lynn has conceived as a final chapter in their long and combative relationship.
The production has already been making its way around the country ahead of the Brighton engagement, drawing audiences familiar with the source material as well as those new to the world of Whitehall absurdism. Theatre Royal Brighton, one of the UK's most storied regional venues, is set to host the show as part of its ongoing commitment to bringing high-profile touring productions to the south coast.
BroadwayWorld previously reviewed the production during its Richmond Theatre engagement, where critics found the reunion of Hacker and Sir Humphrey to be a poignant and nostalgic affair, with Lynn's writing delivering both the sharp wit and the bittersweet weight that fans of the original television series would expect from a farewell to two of British comedy's most cherished creations.
