The Garden of Unearthly Delights Festival Sets Indigenous Artist Lineup; Runs Feb 12-March 15

The Garden of Unearthly Delights, Adelaide's premiere outdoor festival precinct, announces its strongest indigenous lineup yet including Archie Roach, Dan Sultan, Djuka Mala (The Chooky Dancers), Ellie Lovegrove, and the Garden Sessions, ten free concerts from the best indigenous SA and NT musicians.

Every year, The Garden hosts a slew of incredible comedy, cabaret, dance, circus and music sourced from around the world. For the last three years one of its hidden treasures, the Garden Sessions (supported by APRA AMCOS and ArtsSA) has been showcasing some of the most promising local indigenous musicians every Saturday and Sunday afternoon for FREE.

Programmer of the Garden Sessions, Nancy Bates said: 'Now in its third year the Garden Sessions have shown a support for local Indigenous music makers rarely seen outside of Indigenous festivals and community events. Its clear this is no token gesture, but an acknowledgement of the quality of locally grown Indigenous music.'

The movement of Songmen and Songwomen between communities has always been essential for the maintenance of Songlines. In a contemporary musical context, those Songlines still exist and will be ever present in The Garden of Unearthly Delights in 2015.

'The opportunity for the South Australian public to experience the voices and stories of our First Peoples will be a highlight for many during the Adelaide Fringe. The presence of the King of Indigenous Music, Archie Roach, supported by rising star and X Factor finalist Ellie Lovegrove is one of the most anticipated acts in the Garden 2015.' said Nancy Bates

Garden Sessions artist Vonda Last, a Wongai woman and current cast member of Australias first all Indigenous Opera Company, Short Black Opera, is using contemporary music to revive Indigenous languages. Gunditjmara man Corey Theatres songs tell stories important to his people, stories of Country, political injustice and love. Also on the bill, exceedingly talented NT Indigenoust artists Jacinta Price, and niece of Warren H Williams, Cassandra Williams are added highlights for SA.

Supported by APRA AMCOS and Arts SA, the Garden Sessions will host some of our best local Indigenous artists from SA/NT every Saturday and Sunday in The Garden of Unearthly Delights

Big Sexy is on a journey of inspiration and reason, commited to learning and humility.
Sun 15 Feb:
Corey Theatre is a Gunditjmara-Belgian singer songwriter who tells tales of Country, love, political injustices and the merits of taking a laid back approach to life.
Sat 21 Feb:
Allan Sumner is passionate about his Aboriginal heritage. Inspired by the sounds of blues, roots, rock & reggae, he is a dynamic artist and performer not to be missed.
Sun 22 Feb:
Cassandra Williams has been around music her whole life. She lives in the Hermannsburg (Ntaria) Community near Alice Springs with her family.
Sat 28 Feb:
Vonda Last is a Wongai woman. Central to her work in community music has been the revival of Indigenous languages, and maintenance through composition of contemporary music. A divine vocalist and lyrical wordsmith.
Sun 1 Mar:
Eskatology (Jono Stier)Talented emcee Eskatology is a celebrated South Australian hip hop artist. His music entertains whilst delivering important messages that strengthen the spirit.
Sat 7 Mar:
Bec Gollan, a local Ngarrindjeri woman is considered one of Adelaide's most loved Indigenous acts. Becs captivating voice is made up of a thousand colours with unique smoky textures and her songs touch everyone's heart.
Sun 8 Mar:
Harley and Nathan perform as a duo and are both members of the CASM Soul Band. They play all kinds of music but their favourite is country.
Sat 14 Mar:
Jacinta Price with Colin Lillie - Jacinta Prices blend of folk, blues and country music is a style that reflects her Aboriginal/Celtic heritage and her life growing up in Central Australia.
Sun 15 Mar:
Colin Lillie with Jacinta Price - Colin Lille is a gypsy Scotsman who found his voice, honed his craft and launched his musical career in Alice Springs. His music is described as 'folk soul'.
