BONJOUR ADELAIDE French Market Celebrates La Vie Française

By:

The Alliance Française d'Adelaïde will present a weekend of all things French on Friday 18 andSaturday 19 November at the Bonjour Adelaide French Market to be held in the leafy Unley Soldiers' Memorial Gardens, cnr Unley Road and Thomas Street, Unley. (It promises to be the next best thing to being in France!)

Bonjour Adelaide French Market offers an opportunity for lovers of France, French style and culture to fill their baskets with French-inspired gourmet produce and goodies for festive celebrations and Christmas gifts. The Market is a colourful family affair, with popular French music and entertainment, cooking demonstrations, children's activities and much more!

The event will also showcase businesses displaying their French and French-themed goods, from cheese and wine, to clothes and perfume. A Market highlight is the raffle offering a chance to win a Trip for Two to France, thanks to Singapore Airlines, plus accommodation in Paris. Other wonderful prizes include French cookware and champagne.

On Saturday 19 November, from 10.00am to 10.00pm, Bonjour Adelaide French Market joins with Etsy Adelaide. Etsy Made Local is a community market event, held on adjacent Oxford Tce, offering South Australian-made arts, crafts and vintage wares. Both events are FREE!

Previously, the French Market recorded attendances of almost 10,000, making it one of the most popular events in the Adelaide spring calendar. The Chair of the Alliance Française Bryan Fahy said, The market is growing and the feedback we have from the community is extremely positive. We hope that it provides cultural experiences that expose local communities to aspects of French life, increasing awareness and understanding of different cultures. We also have stalls from the French Honorary Consul in Adelaide and the French Australia Chamber of Commerce, giving people a chance to speak with representatives to find out how and why such agencies exist and whether there are business opportunities between Australian and French organisations no matter how small or large.

The 2016 Bonjour Adelaide French Market will present a range of fun family activities and an eclectic lineup of entertainment - from cabaret and accordion to Cancan to Ceroc dancing - and the opportunity to taste French wines, champagnes and traditional Beaujolais.
