Sheridan Smith Of LEGALLY BLONDE Wins Caron Keating Variety Club Award For Musical Theatre

Scores of UK performers, including Legally Blonde's Sheridan Smith, were honoured at last night's Variety Club Awards.

Smith won the Caron Keating award for musical theatre for her performance as Elle Woods.

She tweeted:"Argh!!! I won the Caron Keating award for musical theatre at the variety club awards!!!! Such an honor! Gonna get drunk now :D x"

Smith is also a frontrunner for Best Leading Actress in a Musical in this year's BWW:UK Awards; voting closes on Friday.

Classical award - Russell Watson
Musical theatre award - Sheridan Smith (for Legally Blonde)
Comedy award - The Inbetweeners
Outstanding British film - Made in Dagenham
Recording artist of the year - N-Dubz
Film actor of the year - Ray Winstone
Bernard Delfont award for outstanding contribution to showbusiness - Barbara Windsor.
