Theatre 29 will hold open auditions for the new Off-Broadway comedy musical “Disenchanted” on Monday, April 8th at 6:00pm on the Theatre 29 Main Stage (73637 Sullivan Road, Twentynine Palms). Book, Music & Lyrics by Dennis T. Giacino and developed with and originally Directed Off-Broadway by Fiely Matias, this “not-so-happily-ever-after” look into the lives of our favorite storybook princesses will take the stage by storm May 24 – June 9th.

“Don Quixote”, Miguel de Cervantes’ epic Spanish masterpiece and arguably the world’s first modern novel, has survived the ravages of time since its initial publishing in 1605 as well as the pernicious predations of countless other “authors” who stole Cervantes’ story and published unofficial sequels to the tale over following years, particularly in the new world.

Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey, Maya Rudolph, Idina Menzel, James Marsden, Yvette Nicole Brown, James Monroe Iglehart, were in attendance at the premiere, as well as Alan Menken. MotherFreakingHood!, the show that celebrates the mother you never thought you should be, is directed by Terry Berliner and features Veronica Reyes-How ('Blue Bloods') as Rachael, Erin Leigh Peck (Disenchanted) as Angie, and Harriett D. Foy (Amelie, Amazing Grace) as Marcia, as well as Jimmy Brewer (Trouble with Dead Boyfriends) and Annie Dow (Fade) playing multiple roles.

The Candy Project's production of the Dennis T. Giacino DISENCHANTED! combines his clever lyrics and energetic musical score with their talented cast and crew to create a fun, satirical romp through the stories of Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and all their princess pals.

We're all familiar with their stories... up until the 'happily ever after,' that is. But what do those infamous princesses of the fairy tales really think in this modern world we live in? You'll find out if you attend the Upper Midwest premiere of DISENCHANTED!, a musical comedy coming to the Ritz Theater in Northeast Minneapolis beginning Sept. 26 for a three-week run.

EDGEWISE, a new play by Eliza Clark and directed by Trip Cullman, will be given its world-premiere this fall in a co-production by the Off-Broadway companies Page 73 and The Play Company, running now through December 4, 2010, at the Walkerspace (46 Walker St.) in Tribeca.

Directed by Evan Cabnet, OLIVER PARKER! is a jet black comedy about hurting the ones you love, and loving the ones that hurt: Oliver (Michael Zegen) is 17 and Jasper (John Laroquette) is 60. They are best friends. Oliver wants to get laid, and Jasper wants to help. Jasper wants to drink himself to death, and Oliver wants to save him. The Windham Theatre Guild continues their 2009-2010 Main Stage Theatre season with the crazy romantic comedy The Movie Game...opening Friday, March 19th at the Burton Leavitt Theatre, 779 Main Street, Willimantic.

For the play?s Chicago premiere at Goodman Theatre, Artistic Director Robert Falls taps director Charles Newell, whose reputation for directing acclaimed Stoppard productions precedes him. Florida Studio Theatre opens Jose Rivera's Boleros for the Disenchanted in its continuation of the Winter Mainstage Season. 'Boleros for the Disenchanted is one of the most moving and life affirming stories of love and commitment I have seen on the stage in the past quarter century,' stated FST Artistic Director and show Director Richard Hopkins. From 1953 Puerto Rico to contemporary America a young couple overcomes adversity and discovers a world of hope and love. Immigrating to the United States, Flora and Eusebio experience new adventures, obstacles and life lessons. In a mystical journey through the ages, they realize they have overcome the biggest obstacle of all...finding true love. Boleros for the Disenchanted made its World Premiere at the Yale Repertory Theatre in April, 2008. Other productions include the Huntington Theatre in October of 2008. Jos? Rivera's plays have been translated into six languages. His plays include Marisol (Obie Award winner for Best Play), References to Salvador Dali Make Me Hot (Obie Award), Cloud Tectonics, Each Day Dies with Sleep, The Promise, The House of Ramon Iglesia, Giants Have Us In Their Books, Sueno, The Street of the Sun, Sonnets for an Old Century, Brainpeople, and Adoration of the Old Woman.
