HENRY VII Opens Oregon Shakespeare Festival Summer Season 6/12

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival will open its summer season with one of Shakespeare's rarely produced history plays, Henry VIII. Last produced at OSF in 1984, the play will be staged with all the spectacle of The Field of the Cloth of Gold. Some tickets remain available for previews and openings. The Tallis Scholars Come to Manhattan, 3/30

The Tallis Scholars, known for Renaissance sacred music throughout the world, will be performing at St. Bartholomew's Church in Manhattan on 3/30. 'The Field of the Cloth of Gold' pays homage to two 16th century composers, Jean Mouton of France and William Cornysh of England, who led their countries' respective Chapels Royal in June 1520 as they sang in fields near Calais in celebration of a political summit at which Henry VIII and Francis I met to seal a treaty of friendship between their two warring countries.
