The national release of Writers of the Future volume 29 is taking place this week with the kick-off of the American book signing tour dubbed 'WOTF-A-THON' (Writers Of The Future-A-THON), announced Joni Labaqui, the Contests' Director. 'This week marks our official launch in bookstores and online,' stated Labaqui. 'We have been working to build both print and online momentum for this release and look forward to a successful launch of yet another stellar crew of writers and illustrators-this year's winners.'

The Metropolitan Opera will celebrate its longtime Music Director James Levine's 70th birthday with two full days of special programming on Met Opera Radio (Sirius XM Channel 74). The weekend-long marathon will feature 14 classic Levine performances, hand-picked by the maestro himself, beginning on Saturday, June 22 and continuing through midnight on Levine's birthday, Sunday, June 23. The first broadcast, at 6 a.m. Saturday, will be a 1991 performance of Verdi's Un Ballo in Maschera starring Luciano Pavarotti; the celebration will conclude at 12 a.m. on Monday, June 24 with a 1994 performance of Verdi's rarely heard Stiffelio, starring Placido Domingo in the title role. Complete details, including complete casting and original broadcast dates for all 14 performances, are below.

Twenty-five writers and artists from around the globe were honored Sunday night, April 14, 2013 at The 29th Annual L. Ron Hubbard Achievement Awards for Winners of the International Writers and Illustrators of the Future Contests at the prestigious Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles, California. The two grand prize honors were captured by Tina Gower of Chino, CA who was awarded the The Golden Pen Award and a $5,000 cash prize and Aldo Katayanagi of Chicago, IL who was awarded the The Golden Brush Award and a $5,000 cash prize.

Japan Society Kicks Off ROBOT THEATER PROJECT Tonight

As part of its Fall 2012/Spring 2013 Performing Arts Season, Japan Society presents Seinendan Theater Company and Osaka University's Robot Theater Project, a double bill of one-act plays written and directed by Oriza Hirata. Co-presented with the Japan Foundation, this production plays three performances at Japan Society during a six-city North American tour. Performances at Japan Society (333 East 47th Street) are tonight, February 7, Friday, February 8 and Saturday, February 9 at 7:30pm (running time: 75 minutes including intermission).
