Roundabout's Stamos and Gershon Led BYE BYE BIRDIE Announces Full Casting

After a 48 year absence, Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) presents the first new Broadway production of Bye Bye Birdie as the inaugural production of the new Henry Miller's Theatre (124 West 43rd Street) beginning Thursday, September 10th, 2009 with an official opening on Thursday, October 15th, 2009. This will be a limited engagement through January 10th, 2010.

Laura Linney To Star In MTC's TIME STANDS STILL, Opens 01/28/2010

Emmy and Golden Globe Award winner Laura Linney ('John Adams,' The Savages) will play the lead role in Manhattan Theatre Club's upcoming New York premiere of TIME STANDS STILL by Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Donald Margulies. The limited engagement, to be directed by Tony winner Daniel Sullivan (Accent on Youth, Sight Unseen on Broadway, Brooklyn Boy, Dinner with Friends) will begin previews at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street) on Tuesday, January 5, 2010 in preparation for a Thursday, January 28, 2010 opening night. The production had previously been announced to play MTC's New York City Center - Stage I.

Playwrights Horizons, under the leadership of Artistic Director Tim Sanford and Managing Director Leslie Marcus, proudly announces the sixth and final production of its upcoming 2009/2010 Season, as well as additional casting. Presented at the theater company's home at 416 West 42nd Street, the new production will be: A COOL DIP IN THE BARREN SAHARAN CRICK - the World Premiere of a new play by Playwrights Horizons alumna Kia Corthron (Breath, Boom at Playwrights Horizons, Force Continuum), directed by Obie Award winner Chay Yew (Durango at The Public). A co-production with The Play Company (Kate Loewald, Founding Producer) and Culture Project (Allan Buchman, Artistic Director).

GHOST Musical Bound for UK Stage, Warchus Directs

Matthew Warchus is to direct a musical version of the Academy award winning film Ghost, scheduled to open in the West End in 2010. Music and lyrics are by Grammy award winning Dave Stewart and Glen Ballard, Oscar winning Bruce Joel Rubin will adapt his original screen play for the stage and write lyrics, set and costumes designs are by Rob Howell and the musical supervisors will be Christopher Nightingale and Tesse Gohl. Ghost is produced by David Garfinkle of New York?s Hello Entertainment and London producer Colin Ingram in association with Paramount Pictures. Further information about this production will be announced at a later date.

Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Announces 2009-10 Season

Music director Robert Spano and principal guest conductor Donald Runnicles announce 2009-10 season of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. This season will mark Orchestra's 65th anniversary season, the Youth Orchestra's 35th anniversary season, and Mr. Spano and Mr. Runnicles's ninth season. Culminating the season, the League of American Orchestras will host the 65th National Conference in Atlanta, which will also kick off the 10th Anniversary of the Atlanta School of Composers by featuring new works by the composers. Mr. Spano and The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra will perform five world premieres during the 2009-10 65th Anniversary Season, three of which are ASO commissions. Atlanta School of Composers Jennifer Higdon and Michael Gandolfi; Wynton Marsalis's American Symphony; Angel Lam's New Cello Concerto with Soloist Yo-Yo Ma; and Dejan Lazic's New Piano Arrangement of Brahms's Violin Concerto.
