It was announced that Tony nominee Max von Essen (An American in Paris, Evita, Les Mis) will play Dr.Brad/Kris in the sold out, one-night-only benefit reading of HOLLYWOOD NURSES, the new pulp comedy written by Sheila Head (Head Games, PBS's 'Cyberchase') and Peter Michael Marino (Desperately Seeking the Exit, Late with Lance!), and directed by Carl Andress (Die, Mommie, Die!, The Tribute Artist). Von Essen joins Golden Globe Award winner Kathleen Turner (Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?), Tony Award nominee Geneva Carr (Hand to God), Olivier Award winner Lesli Margherita (Matilda) and Taylor Louderman (Kinky Boots).

The reading will be emceed and narrated by Emmy Award winner Rosie O'Donnell.

Making his Segerstrom Center for the Arts debut, Tony Award® nominee Charles Busch is bringing his unique and critically-acclaimed talents to the Samueli Theater March 9-11, 2017 as part of Segerstrom Center's Cabaret Series. Entitled THE LADY AT THE MIC, Busch will enchant audiences in this intimate evening of songs and stories which he originally created for Lincoln Center's American Songbook series. Busch will be accompanied by longtime musical director Tom Judson where the artists will be paying tribute to extraordinary and much-missed women. Before Busch sashays into Costa Mesa, he agreed to answer a few questions from BroadwayWorld's Michael L. Quintos about the upcoming OC cabaret concert.

This off-Broadway hit by the author of Psycho Beach Party, Vampire Lesbians of Sodom and last year's smash hit The Divine Sister stars Doug Joseph as the irresistibly evil has-been heroine Angela. Cast also includes the struggling director Sol Sussman (Ralph E. Actor Doug Joseph has gone from playing Cecil B. DeMille in the Short North Stage's production of SUNSET BOULEVARD to playing the very Norma Desmond-esque Angela Arden in the theatre's production of DIE, MOMMIE DIE!

Charles Busch will return to Theater for the New City (Crystal Field, Executive Artistic Director) this spring with his new comedy Charles Busch's CLEOPATRA for a limited premiere showcase engagement at Theater for the New City'sCommunity Theater (155 First Avenue). The premiere production, directed by Busch's longtime collaborator Carl Andress (The Tribute Artist, Judith of Bethulia, The Divine Sister) will play a limited engagement of 22 performances fromFriday, March 25 through April 17, 2016.
