The New York Times has just announced that David Mamet's A Life in the Theater, will be the famed writer/director's next show to hit the stage on the Rialto. Producer Jeffrey Richards, who is also the producer behind Mamet's Race, currently playing the Ethel Barrymore Theatre and the recent revival of Mamet's Speed the Plow, confirmed that A Life in the Theater would hit Broadway in the fall of 2010.

Director Gregory Mosher will make his long awaited return to the Broadway stage with his revival of A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE starring Scarlett Johansson and Liev Schrieber - after 17 years. Jones (Spring Awakening), with a book by Jim Lewis and Bill T. Jones. Sahr Ngaujah will return in the title role for which he received universal acclaim, while the world renowned Antibalas and other members of the NYC Afrobeat community, under the direction of Aaron Johnson, will again perform Kuti?s rousing music live onstage. Winner of this year?s Lucille Lortel Award for Best Musical, Fela! was conceived by Bill T. Jones, Jim Lewis and Steve Hendel.

The 55th Annual Evening Standards Theatre Awards, honoring outstanding achievements in London Theater, today has released their long list of 2009 nominees. The award ceremony, which will take place on November 23 at the Royal Opera House, will honor some of theater's biggest stars, including Ian McKellen, Kevin Spacey, Sam Mendes, and more. Bartlett Sher?s hit production of Rossini?s comic masterpiece, Il Barbiere di Siviglia (?The Barber of Seville?), returns to the Met stage on October 3.
