Written by American playwright Arthur Miller, the show was first staged on September 29, 1955 as a one-act verse drama with A Memory of Two Mondays at the Coronet Theatre on Broadway. The play is set in 1950s America, in an Italian American neighborhood near the Brooklyn Bridge in New York. It employs both a chorus and a narrator (Alfieri). Eddie, the tragic protagonist, has an improper love of, and almost obsession with, Catherine. The 2010 revival starred Liev Schreiber, Scarlett Johansson and Jessica Hecht.

Our Lady of the Underpass by Teatro Vista resident playwright Tanya Saracho will be remounted at 16th Street Theater, marking the 5-year anniversary of the Holy sighting under the bridge. The return of this critically-acclaimed, Jeff-Nominated 2009 production directed by Sandra Marquez (Teatro Vista Ensemble Member) is a collaboration between 16th Street Theater and Teatro Vista…Theatre with a View. The production will run at 16th Street Theater in the Berwyn Cultural Center, 6420 16th Street in Berwyn April 1 - May 1, 2010 with Press Opening: Saturday, April 3 @ 5:00 PM

Autumn Hurlbert, Lori Prince, and Michael Puzzo are set to star in Killing Women, by Marisa Wegrzyn and presented by kef productions. The production runs at the Beckett Theatre May 13- June 5 and will be directed by Adam Fitzgerald. Additional casting is yet to be announced.

Fourth Arts Block Presents 'Small Voices' Series Beginning May 4

Fourth Arts Block (FAB) will present 'Small Voices' by young artists from Community Word Project (CWP). Part of FAB's ArtUp program, the exhibit will display excerpts from poems and murals on six panels mounted on the scaffolding bridge at the 70 East 4th Street Cultural Center. Whole Foods Market Bowery will host an opening reception on May 4 from 6-8pm, which is free and open to the public.

Acclaimed Tony Award nominated actor Sir Patrick Stewart will return to Broadway in David Mamet's 'A Life in the Theatre'. Stewart will portray the lead character of 'Robert', a role he previously played in the 2005 production at London's Apollo Theatre. 'A Life in the Theatre' will be directed by Neil Pepe. William Kentridge Makes Met Debut Directing Shostakovich’s THE NOSE

Dmitri Shostakovich's The Nose has its Metropolitan Opera premiere on March 5 at 8:00 pm, conducted by Valery Gergiev, in a visually arresting new production by artist William Kentridge that features original collage, film, sculpture, and massive projections of the artist's drawings and prints. Making his Met debut, baritone Paulo Szot performs the role of Kovalyov in the story of the Russian official who wakes one morning to discover his nose has disappeared (and taken on a higher bureaucratic rank). Based on the short story of the same name by Nikolai Gogol, the opera is what Kentridge has called an exploration of "learning from the absurd." In this production, visuals include renderings of Soviet workers, snatches of newspaper, and projections of propaganda - as well as the missing appendage in adventures ranging from delivering a speech to riding a horse.
