Theater For the New City (TNC) presents the world premiere engagement of AMERICA'S FAVORITE NEWSCASTER, a new musical with book and lyrics by Tom Attea, music by Arthur Abrams, and directed by Mark Marcante (the creative team behind the acclaimed Heather Smiley For President, Living in a Musical, An American Worker, etc.). AMERICA'S FAVORITE NEWSCASTER will play a limited 4-week engagement, running Thursday, January 4, 2018 through Sunday, January 28, 2018 at Theater For the New City (155 1st Avenue, between East 9th and East 10th Streets, NYC). The Opening is Sunday, January 14, 2018 (3 PM).

Theater for the New City presents Happenstance Theater's BrouHaHa in its NYC premiere, with previews January 4 & 5 for an opening on Saturday, January 6, and a run through January 21st, 2018.

Theater for the New City presents Happenstance Theater's New York Premiere of BrouHaHa, an existential clownesque escapade devised by Happenstance Theater at Theater for the New City (155 1st Avenue between 9th and 10th Streets), January 4-21.

Abrons Arts Center will present the world premiere of Caborca's adaptation of Roberto Bola o's ground-breaking novel Distant Star, a harrowing tale of fascism and its aftermath. Running September 14 - October 1, this eerily relevant drama weaves Bola o's memories of life (and death) under Pinochet's American-backed dictatorship into a perverse, seductive noir of urgent political necessity.

Toney Brown has fashioned an experimental play based on 'A Crack Up at the Race Riots' by Harmony Korine. The play meditates on the Artaudian notion of psychology and suicide, focusing on how the term 'mad' is thrust upon those who dare to speak unbearable truths to society. Theater for the New City's Dream Up Festival will present the piece August 27 to September 16, directed by Brown.

Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, Theater for the New City presents a birthday celebration (complete with cake), press conference and performance of IMAGINE, a theatrical tribute to the Beatles comprised of scenes inspired by the band and their songs.
