Center Theatre Group's production of 'Amelie, A New Musical' at the Ahmanson Theatre opened December 16 and continues through January 15, 2017. Based on the motion picture written by Jean-Pierre Jeunet and Guillaume Laurant, 'Amelie, A New Musical' will have its Broadway premiere at the Walter Kerr Theatre, beginning performances on March 9, 2017 and opening April 3, 2017. Due to popular demand, Golnesa 'G.G.' Gharachedaghi, star of 'Shahs of Sunset,' will extend her limited engagement in New York's longest running comedy Sex Tips for Straight Women from a Gay Man as 'Robyn' by one week. Previously set to depart the show today, December 10, G.G. will now play her final performance today, December 17, 2016 at The 777 Theatre (777 Eighth Avenue, between 47th and 48th Streets). In anticipation of "Amelie, A New Musical" coming to the Ahmanson Theatre, Center Theatre Group and The Theatre at Ace Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles will present a special screening of the five-time Oscar-nominated film "Amelie" today, December 3 at 7:30 p.m. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.

Stage Rights announced this week that A Scythe of Time is the recipient of the 2016 Stage Rights/NYMF Publishing Award. Stage Rights presented the award to book writer Alan Harris and composer/lyricist Mark Swanson at Sunday night's star-studded gala. Stage Rights and The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) created the publishing award in 2013, and it is presented annually to one or more of the musicals taking part in the festival. Performance rights for A Scythe of Time will be available through Stage Rights in 2017.

Steele Spring Stage Rights, the licensing company that represents The Marvelous Wonderettes, has just acquired the theatrical performance rights to the hit off-Broadway musical comedy Gigantic, featuring a book by Randy Blair & Tim Drucker, music by Matthew Roi Berger, and lyrics by Randy Blair. Prior to being acquired by Stage Rights, Gigantic kicked off the 2015-16 season at the Vineyard Theatre in New York City, and won Best of Fest at the New York Musical Festival under the name Fat Camp.

RIFF-TINA -- the Jewish-Puerto Rican pop sensation created by comedian and Broadway and TV star Leslie Kritzer, currently appearing in Something Rotten! at the St. James Theater -- is happy to drop her latest track in support of the Hillary Clinton campaign, 'Taco Truck Invasion.' The music video racked up over 38,000 views in its first day. The song will be available as a single on iTunes and other digital platforms today, October 21.
