Daily Variety is reporting that the international stage hit Dirty Dancing - The Classic Story On Stage could be making itself a home on Broadway at the Neil Simon Theatre after current resident Hairspray takes its final bow. While no official plans have been confirmed, inside word is that 'Dancing' looks to be eyeing the space for it's Rialto bow. There is no word on an exact date for a Broadway opening, but insiders predict a Fall 2009 start for the film to stage tuner.

The full cast has been announced for a new production of the Tony Award-winning musical Oliver! at the White Plains Performing Arts Center, Westchester's professional regional theatre located in White Plains, NY. The show will play November 20 - December 14, 2008 as the opening production of the theatre's Bank of America Broadway Classics series.

Guthrie Director Joe Dowling today announced directors for the three productions slated to headline the theater's 2009 Tony Kushner celebration, in addition to three speaking events designed to expand and enhance the issues raised in the work of this Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright.

13, A New Musical, with music and lyrics by Tony Award winner Jason Robert Brown, will begin previews on Tuesday, September 16, 2008 and officially open at The Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre (242 W. 45th Street) on Sunday, October 5, 2008.

Keir Dullea and Mia Dillon will star in a play-reading of the winning play in the 2007 Artsport New Works Playwriting Competition on Sunday, November 11 at 7PM, presented by Playhouse on the Green in Bridgeport. The two noted actors will read In the Middle of Nowhere by Kent R. Brown of Fairfield. Director is Kate Katcher of Newtown.

Broadway veterans Ken Page, Jenny Powers, Bruce Adler and Robert Westenberg will star in the upcoming St. Louis Muny staging of the Charles Dickens-based musical Oliver!, which will be presented from July 31st through August 6th

Edge Theater Company (Carolyn Cantor, Artistic Director) will present the Off-Broadway premiere of Craig Wright's new play Orange Flower Water, at The Theater for the New City. Performances for Orange Flower Water will begin March 26th and continue through May 8th.
