In a one-hour special, 'Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars -- Defining Dances,' airing TONIGHT, OCTOBER 2 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET), the judges will select and introduce past routines from the All-Stars' previous seasons, ultimately defining the winning attributes that each All-Star demonstrated in these performances.

The performance will include songs of Henry Purcell, arias of Handel, and cantatas of Vivaldi. Program details will be announced shortly. A post-performance dinner with the artists follows at the club.

OSL Announces New Artistic Leadership

The Co-Founder and former Chairman of IMG Artists Charles Hamlen will become Orchestra of St. Luke's (OSL) new Vice President for Artists & Programs, effective October 2012. In this role, Mr. Hamlen will plan repertoire and artistic collaborations for OSL's annual orchestra series at Carnegie Hall, chamber music series at The Morgan Library & Museum and Brooklyn Museum, summer residency at Caramoor International Music Festival, Subway Series, OSL@DMC and other special projects. Mr. Hamlen will follow Elizabeth Ostrow, the current Vice President, Artistic Planning, who has worked at OSL for the past 16 years.

Berkeley Playhouse Opens 5th Season with THE SOUND OF MUSIC, 10/27-12/2

Berkeley Playhouse opens its fifth season with Rodgers and Hammerstein's beloved final collaboration, THE SOUND OF MUSIC. Berkeley Playhouse founding Artistic Director Elizabeth McKoy helms this endearing family classic, featuring a cast of 40, with musical direction by Greg Mason and choreography by Staci Arriaga. THE SOUND OF MUSIC plays October 27 through December 2 (Press opening: October 27) at the Julia Morgan Theatre in Berkeley.

Modern jazz trumpeter, Gabriel Johnson, a graduate of the prestigious New England Conservatory of Music, and an active studio musician who has played and recorded with the likes of Jill Scott, Diddy, Andrea Bocelli, David Foster and B.o.B among others, will release the self-produced Introducing Gabriel Johnson on September 25 on his Sunset Horn imprint. Johnson, whose varied influences range from Miles Davis, to the Stones Throw Records label aesthetic of J-Dilla and Madlib, has created a vibrant wall-of-sound in which he blends the classic with the contemporary, for a sexy, raw, hip hop infused work. Johnson's modern jazz and hip hop blend provides the perfect backdrop for his trumpet playing to completely shine and take center stage.

The Hartt School Community Division (HCD) announces Celesti Sondato's 4th season and a new music director, Bryan Zaros of Avon, Conn. An accomplished and award winning conductor, Mr. Zaros has conducted choirs in nine different countries and has performed at some of the most celebrated performance venues, including the Metropolitan Opera House, Avery Fisher Hall, Carnegie Hall, and on NBC's Today show. Celesti Sondato is the HCD Adult Chamber Choir, an auditioned SATB ensemble with a tradition of performing varied choral literature, premiering new works, and collaborating with local ensembles throughout the year.
