Ghostlight Records has confirmed the May 10th (digital and physical) release of the Original Broadway Cast Recording of Lincoln Center Theater's production of WOMEN ON THE VERGE OF A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN, featuring book by Jeffrey Lane, and music and lyrics by David Yazbek

The cast of Lincoln Center Theater's production of Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, the new musical based on the film by Pedro Almodovar, with book by Jeffrey Lane, music and lyrics by David Yazbek and direction by Bartlett Sher, will reunite later this month to record the original cast recording of the musical, which ended its limited engagement run on Sunday, January 2 at the Belasco Theatre.

Bravo threads a brand new twist into an all-new season of 'The Fashion Show: Ultimate Collection,' as fashion icon Iman and internationally acclaimed designer Isaac Mizrahi unveil 12 professional designers for a runway battle in a first-ever fashion house duel. A long-standing opening night tradition on the Great White Way, the fabled Gypsy Robe is bestowed upon a veteran Broadway chorus member for each opening production. In what has now become a theatrical ritual, originating on Broadway 60 years ago, Julio Agustin was the given the robe.

According to a reoprt by Deadline.com, star of the stage and screen Antonio Banderas is set to star in Warner Bros and Universal's Black Gold. The film will be directed by Jean-Jacques Annaud, and will begin fiming on October 18. The plot revolves around the rivalry between Arabian rulers in the 1930s, who are united by a young leader.

BroadwayWorld.com has learned from a reliable source that Tony-winner Brian Stokes Mitchell is in final contract negotiations and is fully expected to join WOMEN ON THE VERGE OF A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN. All offers are said to be out to Sherie Rene Scott and other performers (that they are keeping under tabs) and a full casting announcement is expected in the coming days.

According to The Orlando Sentinel, Antonio Banderas has begun work on his 'Shrek' spin-off, set for release in Winter 2011. The film will follow Banderas' character, Puss in Boots, before his first appearance in 'Shrek 2'.

The New York Daily News is reporting that Spanish director Pedro Almodovar told press at the Cannes Festival that Jessica Biel, who took part in the staged readings of the new musical, 'Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown' at Lincoln Center, has signed on for the full production.

Broadway veteran Antonio Banderas is set to star in Pedro Almodovar's newest film, 'La Piel que Habito, which translates to 'The Skin I live In'. The movie will begin production this summer in Spain. This collaboration will reunite Banderas and Almodovar, who in the past have worked together on'Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown,' 'The Law of Desire,' 'Tie me Up, Tie me Down' and 'Matador.' Banderas will star as a plastic surgeon's revenge on the man who raped his daughter.

NINE will have a limited release on December 18th in New York and Los Angeles and will then go on wide release on December 25th. The film had its official New York premiere at the Ziegefeld Theatre in New York City on December 15, 2009.

‘Tis been the season of movie stars heading back to their roots on stage this fall. Variety reports today that screen sirens Salma Hayek and Jessica Biel, along with Broadway stars Matthew Morrison and Paulo Szot starring in a private industry reading last weekend of 'Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown,' now in development by Lincoln Center Theatre. They were joined in the reading by Joanna Gleason (Tony Award winner for Into The Woods) and Argentinian actress Mia Maestro (Alias).
