Beginning the week of Thanksgiving and running through the end of December, Artists Rep offers Portland audiences a pair of decidedly offbeat holiday plays all in the same night. From the World Premiere of Matt Pelfrey's The Reason for the Season that involves a wrestling match between parents and Santa, to the Northwest Premiere of Anthony Neilson's The Night Before Christmas where a hostage elf tells tales of Santa's secrets - these new plays offer theatre-goers a gleeful dose of raucous, very adult, holiday spirit.

With seven premieres on its stages this year, Artists Rep's 2013/14 season reinforces the theatre's longstanding commitment to producing new plays in Portland. With the U.S. premiere of Foxfinder starting tonight, October 29, Artists Rep aims to give this play national recognition and offer West Coast audiences the first look at this up-and-coming playwright.

San Francisco's premiere sketch comedy group is proud to announce its world premiere production of the comedic play, The Shakespeare Bug, debuting tonight, September 6 - 29, 2013 at Stage Werx Theatre in the heart of San Francisco's Mission District. This original play is written by Ken Slattery, KML Company Member and award-winning author of Truffaldino Says No, which premiered at Shotgun Players in Summer 2012.

Set in a quintessential American restaurant, entire lives whiz by for a modern family whose stage and age are short-order fare. From birth to that inevitable last course - and every corndog, calamari and Cadillac margarita in between - a multi-generational potluck of characters live life's major and minor moments around the dinner table.

Village Green Productions has announced the return of THE BOOMERANG EFFECT, written by Matthew Leavitt, produced by Del Shores and directed by Damaso Rodriguz. THE BOOMERANG EFFECT will mark the final production Mr. Rodriguez will direct in Los Angeles prior to his becoming Artistic Director of the Artists Repertory Theatre in Portland. THE BOOMERANG EFFECT will preview tonight, June 6 & Friday, June 7 at 8pm and will open on Saturday, June 8 and will run through Saturday, July 27 at the Zephyr Theatre, 7456 Melrose Ave., in West Hollywood.

This revealing comedy peers into the backstage lives of Broadway power-duo Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne and summers spent at their legendary Wisconsin estate, Ten Chimneys.

Craig Hall, Artistic Director of Vertigo Theatre, during a near capacity season launch event, announced the company's 2013/2014 Vertigo Mystery Theatre season, renamed BD&P Mystery Theatre series, thanks to a generous funding commitment announced by Cheryl Gottselig, Partner/Lawyer, from Burnet Duckworth & Palmer LLP Law Firm. Hall was joined by Nathan Pronyshyn, Y Stage Theatre series Producer, who revealed the season line up for Y Stage Theatre series.

New Ohio Theatre presents the World Premiere of Godlight Theatre Company's The Pilo Family Circus, the sold-out hit of the 2012 Ice Factory Festival. The Pilo Family Circus is based on the novel by Will Elliott, adapted by Matt Pelfrey and directed by Joe Tantalo. The show runs now through February 23, 2013 in a limited engagement at New Ohio Theatre, located at 154 Christopher Street between Greenwich and Washington Streets in New York City.
