According to the Daily Mail, the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical Once has found a London home at the Phoenix Theatre and is set to begin performances in March 2013.

Grace, the acclaimed American play written by Award-winning writer Craig Wright (Mistakes Were Made, "Six Feet Under") and directed by Dexter Bullard (Tracy Letts' BUG), will star Paul Rudd and Academy Award nominee Michael Shannon, with Kate Arrington and seven-time Emmy Award-winner Ed Asner. The show started previews at the Cort Theatre (138 West 48th Street) on Thursday, September 13th, with an official opening night set for Thursday, October 4, 2012. Rachel York stars in "Anything Goes" with Music and Lyrics by Cole Porter, Original book by P.G. Wodehouse & Guy Bolton, and Howard Lindsay & Russel Crouse and New book by Timothy Crouse and John Weidman, will play Center Theatre Group's Ahmanson Theatre, beginning previews November 27, opening on November 28 and running through January 6, 2013.

Reviewing mindless fun can be dangerous terrain.  In the first half of the last century magnificent wits like P.G. Wodehouse and George S. Kaufman wrote the books for mindlessly fun musical comedies showcasing scores by the likes of Cole Porter, Rodgers and Hart and the Gershwins that invented a new sophistication in American music and lyrics.  The plots may have been silly, but the mindless fun of 1920s and 30s (Of Thee I Sing, Anything Goes, The Boys From Syracuse for starters) was often literate and inventive.
