Impro Theatre Adds New Main Company Members

David Cerda, the crown prince of Chicago Camp, is back and in top form with his latest queer take on horror anthologies, SCREAM, QUEEN, SCREAM! Cerda, the artistic director of Hell in a Handbag Productions, wrote the show and also stars in one of the trilogy of stories. It runs through Oct. 31 at Mary's Attic (5400 N. Clark).

The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music's (CCM) Chamber Choir and Philharmonia Chamber Orchestra join forces to perform a unique staged production of Johann Sebastian Bach's visceral rendering of the St. John Passion as the next installment in CCM's 2013-14 Prestige Concert Series. The monumental work will be presented at 5 p.m. today, Nov. 3, at Christ Church Cathedral under the direction of Earl Rivers, staged by Omer Ben-Seadia, and in conjunction with the Constella Festival of Music and Fine Arts.

Opera Lafayette, renowned for its interpretation of early French opera, announces the release of its ninth recording on the Naxos label, Pierre-Alexandre Monsigny's 1762 opéra-comique to a libretto by Michel-Jean Sedaine, Le Roi et le fermier. Artistic Director Ryan Brown conducts the Opera Lafayette Orchestra in this world premiere recording featuring tenor Thomas Michael Allen and baritone William Sharp in the title roles, with sopranosDominique Labelle and Yulia Van Doren, mezzo Delores Ziegler, tenors Tony Boutté and Jeffrey Thompson, and baritone Thomas Dolié. The recording has been selected as a Key Release by the Naxos label for August 2013 and will be available worldwide on August 27, 2013. The recording is now available digitally on iTunes, Amazon, and the Naxos Music Library, and Ryan Brown can be heard discussing the work on the August 1 Naxos podcast.
