Directed by Jeff Award nominee David Perkovich with a musical score by award-winning Chicago composer Gregg Opelka, THE BEVERLY HILLBILLIES, THE MUSICAL, was written by David Rogers and Amanda Rogers, and follows the nouveau-riche Clampett family as they move to the privileged society of Beverly Hills after discovering an oil reserve on their land. From Jed Clampett to Granny, Elly May and Jethro all the favorites from the '60s TV comedy are back and shaking things up as they adjust to their new, fast-paced life while maintaining their hayseed ways.

On Saturday, April 5, 2014, Light Opera Works will host its annual spring benefit at the North Shore Country Club in Glenview, Illinois, honoring Chicago theater legend James Harms. Proceeds will benefit Light Opera Works programming, including the 2014 season, the Musical Theater Summer Workshop, student half-price tickets and Family Talk Backs.

BAM and Scott Rudin will present Goodman Theatre's renowned revival of Eugene O'Neill's The Iceman Cometh from February 5 through March 15, 2015. Directed by Goodman Artistic Director Robert Falls and featuring Tony Award-winning stage and screen actors Nathan Lane (as Theodore "Hickey" Hickman) and Brian Dennehy (as Larry Slade), the production, including its original Chicago cast, is slated for a six-week run in the BAM Harvey Theater. Ticket on-sale dates will be announced in the fall of 2014.

Chicago Shakespeare's production will transport audiences to post-war England in the late 1940s with a soundtrack of spirited dance music. H.M.S. PINAFORE, Gilbert and Sullivan's musical comedy of manners, has been a calling card of Light Opera Works ever since the company presented it as its inaugural production in 1981. The Pinafore sails once more onto the stage of Evanston's Cahn Auditorium in a new production, with 26-piece orchestra, June 8 to 16. The score includes: 'I'm Called Little Buttercup,' 'When I Was a Lad,' 'I Am the Captain of the Pinafore' and many others.

Pulitzer Prize- winning playwright Quiara Alegria Hudes unveils The Happiest Song Plays Last-the latest and last play of her acclaimed 'Elliot Trilogy'-at Goodman Theatre, produced in association with Teatro Vista.
