STARZ announced today the casting of Toby Stephens in the lead role of 'Captain Flint' in the upcoming Michael Bay-produced original series 'Black Sails,' which is expected to air on STARZ in 2014. The eight-episode first season of the pirate adventure centers on the tales of Captain Flint and his men, and takes place 20 years prior to Robert Louis Stevenson's classic 'Treasure Island.'

'Cloud Atlas' explores how the actions and consequences of individual lives impact one another throughout the past, the present and the future. Action, mystery and romance weave dramatically through the story as one soul is shaped from a killer into a hero and a single act of kindness ripples across centuries to inspire a revolution in the distant future.

Cloud Atlas is an epic adventure-drama film written and directed by Lana Wachowski, Tom Tykwer (also co-composer), and Andy Wachowski. It was adapted from the 2004 novel of the same name by David Mitchell. The film premiered on September 9, 2012 at the 37th Toronto International Film Festival, and you can check oiut photos from the premiere below!

Ann Taylor today accounced of the brand's first Canadian store located in the Toronto Eaton Centre on October 5, marking the first step in international expansion for the iconic women's retail chain. Ann Taylor is scheduled to open its second international store in Canada, located in Torontoat the Yorkdale Shopping Centre this November.

Stand Up To Cancer today announced that more than $81 million has been pledged so far in connection with its star-studded September 7 'roadblock' fundraising telecast to accelerate ground-breaking research and bring new treatments to patients as quickly as possible, including pediatric cancer patients through the creation of a new pediatric cancer research 'Dream Team.'

Hyde Park-Image Nation, Troika Pictures and Merced Media Partners have announced that they will finance and produce the thriller CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR. The film, to be directed by Elizabeth Allen ("Ramona and Beezus," "Aquamarine"), was written by Chris Frisina and will star Isabel Lucas ("Transformer 2," "Immortals").

Mothers beware!!! Lifetime has ordered 10 episodes of PRANK MY MOM, a new, hidden-camera, comedy show that allows kids to show their mothers just how much they love them. Hosted by Vivica A. The long-running children's educational series SESAME STREET will begin its 43rd season beginning September 24. Continuing its tradition of inviting famous personalities to visit the muppet-filled neighborhood, EW.com has unveiled a line-up of A-list celebs who will make appearances on this year's show, including David Hyde Pierce and Amy Ryan.

Principal photography has begun on three new epic four-hour mini-series events for television. The three, RING OF FIRE, Eve of Destruction and Delete, have all begun production in Vancouver. Ring of Fire and Eve of Destruction are from Reunion Pictures.

Amphibian Stage Productions opens its main stage production of The Understudy, written by Theresa Rebeck, tonight, July 19. Award-winning director René Moreno directs Chuck Huber, Sarah Koestner, and Carman Lacivita in this comedy running through August 5 at The Hardy and Betty Sanders Theatre at the Fort Worth Community Arts Center.
