Contemporary ballet company Jessica Lang Dance, led by founder, choreographer, and Artistic Director Jessica Lang, returns to Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival for an extended two-week run of The Wanderer, July 29-August 9 in the Doris Duke Theatre.

The Hartt School Community Division (HCD) Dance Department presents Giselle, a ballet by Adolphe Adam, today, July 25, 2015 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at Millard Auditorium at the University of Hartford, 200 Bloomfield Avenue, West Hartford. Guest choreographer and artistic director of the production is Xiomara Reyes, a world-renowned dancer who retired from the American Ballet Theatre (ABT) in May after 12 years as one of its principal dancers. New York City Ballet announced today that Principal Dancer Jennie Somogyi will retire during the Company's 2015 Fall Season, after a 21-year career with New York City Ballet. Her final performance will take place on Sunday, October 11 at 3 pm at the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center. She will perform George Balanchine's Liebeslieder Walzer.

43rd season to feature the return of audience favorites Emergence, Roméo et Juliette, and Coppélia. Other highlights include works by Christopher Wheeldon, Jerome Robbins, and Twyla Tharp, and PNB premieres by Alejandro Cerrudo, Jessica Lang and Justin Peck. This year's event will take place at Chicago's top downtown venues - the Harris Theater for Music and Dance, the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Jay Pritzker Pavilion at Millennium Park - August 25-29, 2015.

New York City Ballet announced today that David P. Thiele has been appointed Managing Director of the David H. Koch Theater, and he will begin his position on July 27, 2015. Thiele, who has spent nearly 30 years working in the performing arts world, has been the Vice President of Facilities and Operations at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts in Philadelphia since 2009.

Ballet NY will present the world premiere of What Ever, choreographed by Medhi Bahiri, as well as works by John Butler, William Forsythe and Stanton Welch, July 9 - 11 at Ailey Citigroup Theater, 405 West 55th Street (at 9th Avenue).

Stella Abrera and Misty Copeland have been promoted to the rank of Principal Dancer with American Ballet Theatre and Skylar Brandt, Thomas Forster, Arron Scott and Cassandra Trenary have been promoted to Soloist effective August 1, 2015.   In addition, Maria Kochetkova, a principal dancer with San Francisco Ballet and Alban Lendorf, a principal dancer with Royal Danish Ballet will join the Company as Principal Dancers and Jeffrey Cirio, a principal dancer with Boston Ballet, will join ABT as a Soloist, it was announced today by Artistic Director Kevin McKenzie.
